Development in the Village of Frankfort

Community Development

The hub for all development activity within the Village of Frankfort is the community development department. Community Development staff works with Village codes and ordinances to guide development in a manner consistent with Village policy and the Comprehensive Plan, while assuring the quality of life residents have come to expect.

Along with the Village's Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, Community Development is responsible for reviewing all commercial projects, subdivisions, and zoning requests.

Combining urban planning, civil engineering, economic development, historic preservation, and geographic information systems, the community development department is a resource for residents to inquire about planning topics such as current developments, long range plans, interpretation of Village ordinances, and the planning process itself.

Should you need additional information or have any questions, feel free to call the Administrative Office, at (815) 469-2177, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
