Larger Garbage Toters Delivered by NuWay

The Village of Frankfort, teaming with NuWay Disposal, will be providing new maintenance free garbage toter to residents beginning the week of March 16 at no charge to residents. Complete distribution will take place in two phases: the first phase distribution is scheduled for March 16, 2009 and the second phase distribution is scheduled for January, 2010.

This larger 95 gallon toter has wheels for easy handling and lids to help retain the refuse materials. This free container should be used for garbage only. Recycle toters should continue to be used for all recyclable items.

Trash contained in the new garbage toter will be picked up every Monday as part of the Village of Frankfort’s curbside collection program. Each new toter is numbered and registered to the household address. If residents already own a garbage toter, a new additional one will be received. All toters will be picked up on the day of collection. Any excess garbage bags should be placed next to your toter at the curb.

A brochure will be distributed by the Village of Frankfort to all residents of the March distribution with details regarding their new toter. In addition, a detailed pamphlet will be provided upon delivery of the new toter by NuWay Disposal.

“We are proud to upgrade our curbside recycling program and do our part for the environment. These larger toters, free to our residents, provides the means to continue our efforts to keep Frankfort an environmentally friendly community," commented Mayor Jim Holland.
